Judy Evans is an artist who specialised in screen printing and papermaking. She studied at Harrogate School of Art and the Fine Art Department at Newcastle University. Early in her career, she owned an art gallery in Kendel, Cumbria and later had a large home studio. In 2001 she was a co-founder of Printfest Ulverston, a very well known and established printmakers fair that goes from strength to strength. Judy now lives on a lovely island in Scotland and still exhibits her work, although this is now mainly papermaking pieces and paintings created using textile dyes.
When Judy moved in 2017, not only did she not have space for the vast amount of printing screens that she had produced over the years but also she saw it as a chance to be able to change her artistic direction. We were lucky enough to meet Judy at this time via Printfest and she kindly offered us most of her screens and equipment, to use at our discretion. We are so happy to have the chance to be able to reproduce some of her prints and that they will now live on. These screens have travelled a long way from Cumbria to Essex and work will be available via Etsy.
